The Quality Control/Assurance Specialist ensures compliance with FDA, USDA, and other regulatory standards within a central kitchen environment. This role involves conducting audits, monitoring production processes, and implementing quality assurance measures to ensure safe and high-quality food production. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with regulatory audits and a deep understanding of food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for and coordinate FDA, USDA, and other third-party audits, ensuring all processes and documentation meet compliance requirements.
  • Act as the main point of contact during audits, providing required documentation and facilitating site inspections.
  • Inspect raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods for compliance with quality specifications.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare quality reports for management and regulatory compliance purposes.
  • Train staff on quality control standards, food safety practices, and proper handling techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, and maintenance teams to address quality and compliance concerns.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years in food quality control, food production, or related field.
  • Experience managing FDA and USDA audits is essential.
  • Exceptional ability to identify quality deviations and safety risks.
  • Clear verbal and written communication for reporting and training purposes.
